Eicher announces EV-First entry into Small Commercial Vehicle segment with Global Unveil at Bharat Mobility Global Show 2024

• EV-First Eicher Truck set to revolutionize city and near-city distribution and transform last mile logistics

New Delhi, 2 February 2024: Eicher Trucks and Buses a division of VE Commercial Vehicles today announced its entry into Small Commercial Vehicle segment with the Global Unveil of its EV-First Eicher Truck, at Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024. Carrying forward Eicher’s proud tradition of delivering innovative, sustainable and economically viable transportation solutions, this Pro Business Pro Planet range spanning 2T to 3.5T GVW is meticulously designed to meet the needs of city and near city distribution. Deliveries commence in early 2025, with CNG and Clean Diesel options planned for subsequent introduction.

At Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024, VECV has showcased it’s vision for future-ready mobility solutions across product segments with focus on smart sustainability.

The company displayed India’s first 5.5 tonne electric truck- the Eicher Pro 2055 EV. Commercially available since September 2023, the Eicher Pro 2055 EV is revolutionizing the delivery trucks segment for a greener e-commerce. The product marks another milestone in VECV's commitment to driving modernization and fostering smart sustainability. Also on display is the Eicher Pro 8055 LNG/CNG truck designed specifically for meeting needs for clean transport in long-haul applications. While managing longer range on LNG, the Eicher Pro 8055 is capable of transitioning to use CNG fuel by the simple turn of a switch - well suited to leverage the rapidly expanding CNG distributor network. Also on display is Eicher Pro 12 m EV bus specifically designed for comfortable and sustainable staff transport.

Volvo Trucks displayed the Volvo FM Electric 4x2 Tractor, which is undergoing extensive trials with leading e-commerce operators in long-haul hub-to-hub operations having covered 45000 kms in just 3 months.

Volvo Buses presented its state-of-the-art 15m Volvo 9600 luxury coach. Built on the internationally acclaimed Volvo 9600 platform the coach offers First Class luxury seating for an exclusive travel & tourism.

VECV also displayed advanced prototype Eicher Hydrogen ICE technology engine, which is, are aligned with the Government of India’s Green Hydrogen Mission and offers a promising path to zero tail-pipe emissions.
